About

Hello!
My name is Linda.
I make things happen.

My favourite things to work on are:

  • large or small scale projects that are created for and with communities

  • theatre, all kinds, diverse and accessible

  • slow, thoughtful work: environment, sustainability, food-growing, wildlife, water

  • shows and events for children, schools and families

  • projects that pop up or take place in unexpected locations: care homes, high streets, empty shops, car parks, community gardens, pubs

  • interdisciplinary, experimental, activist and social justice work

  • live literature and library partnerships

  • artist development

I’m based in Sheffield and work across the UK and internationally. I have worked with the National Theatre, The British Library, the Roundhouse, the Albany and many more cultural venues, as well as in community and school settings. Check out current projects here.

In Sheffield, I am Founding Director at RivelinCo: Hillsborough’s neighbourhood arts centre without walls. I am also an Associate Artist with The Bare Project and Trustee at The Montgomery Theatre and Arts Centre. I was a 2021 Clore Excellerate Fellow, and a 2019 Fellow with Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy.

I try to do as much as I can to support artists and early-career producers - you can find workshops, artist surgeries, resources and more here. I have been posting #OpportunityTuesday every week, a Twitter thread of paid opportunities for artists, for over 4 years. More than 250 artists have found jobs and commissions through it so far!

I am a school governor at Marlcliffe Primary School in Hillsborough, Sheffield, and I am a member of the Sheffield Creative Guild.

In other news, I also really like dinosaurs, dumplings, dungarees, wild swimming, rainy beaches, books, board games, and my rescue pets.
